Don’t Call It a Comeback

So I’ve been gone for a while and I’m sorry. I’ve been going through a lot lately, both good and bad. The point of this article is just to let you know that I’m back and to fill you in on what I’ve been up to. I am 100% back and will be releasing a new article every Friday morning once more. Let’s get to it.

I’ve been gone because I’ve been depressed. I lost my job due to circumstances that weren’t my fault and were completely out of my control. I’m not sure what details I can discuss here due to the iffy nature of it all, so I won’t discuss any. What matters here is that I lost my job and it put me into a depressive state that made it hard to do much when other people weren’t actively dragging me out of the house. I did manage to secure a new job, thankfully. It won’t start until mid to late July but that gives me plenty of time to write and maybe get ahead of schedule for once in my life. But let’s get back to the whole people dragging me out of the house thing.

There is a fairly young anime convention in central Texas called Okashicon. It will take place July 19th-21st. They asked the good people of NinjaHELL! Productions, who run a YouTube channel, to host a contest. Participants were asked to create a tabletop role-playing game (think Dungeons & Dragons) based on the popular anime genre they were assigned. Five judges were asked to play these games and judge them. I am one of these judges and it’s been a lot of fun. It is all recorded in podcast form and just like every other time I worked with NinjaHELL! Productions, it was an absolute pleasure.

I would like to think my beautiful and amazing girlfriend, Alice, who refused to let me sit around and feel sorry for myself for too long. She’s kept me on task and in a much better mental state than I might be, otherwise. Alice is a blessing and I will do my best to repay her.

I don’t have much else to say here but I will post some relevant links, below. If you live in central Texas and are all about that weeb shit, you may want to check out Okashicon. I’ll be there as a panelist with NinjaHELL! Productions. If you live anywhere and are all about that weeb shit, I recommend checking out NinjaHELL! Productions. Anyways, thank you for your patience and it feels good to be back. 🙂

Love, Lara
